Wellness in Wellies
Nurturing your mental, social, and physical wellbeing
Welcome to Wellness in Wellies
Our mission is to nurture the mental health and well-being of individuals through the use of animal-assisted interventions. We are committed to providing a trauma-informed, strength-based approach that respects and responds to the unique experiences and needs of each participant.
Situated in beautiful surroundings between Bristol and Bath, Wellness in Wellies offers a calm, safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for children aged between 7-16 to interact with animals and nature to improve social, emotional, mental and physical health.
Who are we?
We are an animal assisted wellness initiative setup with the aim of providing young people who are struggling with formal education, an alternative provision to nurture their mental, social, and physical wellbeing

All of our young people’s courses run for an hour a week for 6 weeks during term time. Our students generally begin with our ‘Welcome to Wellness in Wellies’ course. Over the 6 weeks the students will have the opportunity to work alongside all of our animals in the beautiful countryside.
Some topics that will be covered include: building relationships, refining leadership skills, animal welfare, behaviour, and emotions. Learning about these topics will be achieved through activities such as grooming, leading, feeding, observing behaviour, decorating and obstacle courses.
Every student will receive a bespoke student journal at the start of their course to record their journey, attach photographs, and keep track of their achievements.
